For your relaxing, lazy holiday vibes, Choeng Mon is the place to go. There’s a few restaurants for food & drink, or to claim a sun lounger for the day. Try a bit of snorkelling around the rocky pools, or if you just want to catch some rays then the sand is as soft as clouds. If you’re you’re not staying in one of the hotels then beach is the only real thing on offer here – you might want to consider a treat and stay in one of these luxury places! Slightly separate on it’s own island, you’ll see the 5-star Cape Fahn hotel – if you’re looking to splash out, what better way than on your own private island?
A beautiful jungle shrouded beach, again, there’s not much going on here unless you’re staying in one of the hotels. This beach is a bit further out from the main areas on Koh Samui, but for lazy, quiet days Taling is hard to beat! Get here soon, it’s quickly becoming a sought after location for residential property so secludedness may not be the case for much longer! We visited here to take our friend’s rescue pups on a day trip from the wonderful Happy Tails Sanctuary.
This is the most central beach, offering the most accommodation options than anywhere else on the island. Chaweng is also nightlife central – which we experienced to the fullest on Christmas Day at ARK bar! By day you can relax on the beautiful white sand with cocktails and by night you can enjoy buckets and boogying. Chaweng has it all going on!
Big Buddha Beach
This one isn’t a very beachy beach, but it’s incredible for sunset! Perch on the rocks behind the big Buddha statue and you’ll get the best free spot for an incredible sunset! Keep an eye on the time as they lock the gates after sunset, but someone should check the grounds to make sure they don’t lock you in! Another option is to visit one of the Big Buddha beach bars just down the road. We enjoyed sunset with a cocktail on our last night at Samui Sunset Garden.
You’re sure to find your perfect beach to relax and soak in the sun on this stunning island! If you want some adventure then there’s tons to see and do on Koh Samui. Check out our sightseeing guide for some ideas, or get festive with our guide to Christmas on Koh Samui.
